Celebrating Food Day Canada!

Celebrating Food Day Canada 2020 ALL DAY TODAY — AUGUST 1!

On the first Saturday in August every year, the Canadian food community comes together to celebrate Food Day Canada. Launched in 2003, Food Day Canada aimed to show support for Canadian beef producers during the BSE crisis – referred to as The World’s Longest Barbecue. Since then, Canadian chefs have joined in as ambassadors for Canadian food. It’s a movement that continues to grow and we’re proud to be a part of it!

As part of the celebrations, be sure to check out the great profile of Lara and Adrian and From Scratch in Menu Magazine — always grateful for the opportunity to expand the profile of the restaurant and our unique approach to bringing food to visitors and residents of the Columbia Valley.

The theme of the event this year is, appropriately, gratitude. It’s where the From Scratch team has lived for the past many months!  We want to show our tremendous thanks. The celebration is all about Canadian ingredients – who grows them, where they grow or are caught or prepared, right through to where we expertly highlight and transform them in our kitchen to serve our amazing customers.

We want to thank Restaurants Canada & Food Day Canada for the article. It is an honour to be written about alongside John Morris from the CN Tower and Yannick Lasalle from Les Fougères. This current chapter of our #FromScratch life is pretty fabulous considering world circumstances.

In celebration, we’re offering this special menu for lunch and dinner today:
